Changing Political Alliances in Bihar

It has been a tradition for political leaders to switch parties before any election, and the trend continues in the current election in Bihar. While many leaders have found new positions, some are left disappointed and are still searching for a suitable place. The main contest in the Lok Sabha elections in Bihar is between the BJP-led NDA and the opposition’s Mahagathbandhan, with candidates finalized for most of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

Benefiting from Party Switching

Several politicians who have joined the RJD after leaving other parties are benefiting from the move. Candidates like Abhay Kushwaha and Bima Bharati have been given tickets by the RJD to contest from Aurangabad and Purnia respectively. This trend of changing alliances is not limited to the RJD, as parties like LJP (Ram Vilas) and JDU have also made strategic candidate changes in constituencies like Jamui and Samastipur.

Uncertainty for Imported Candidates

While some imported candidates have found success, others like Pappu Yadav, who merged his Jan Adhikar Party with the Congress, have faced disappointment. With seats still undecided in alliances like the Mahagathbandhan, candidates like those from the RJD in Siwan are yet to be announced. This uncertainty leaves imported candidates hopeful but party workers feeling betrayed.
