Chanchal Paswan to contest from Gopalganj
The VIP party has given a ticket to Chanchal Paswan from Gopalganj. The state president of the VIP party, Balgobind Bind, has confirmed this information. With the guidance of Santosh Sahni, the national president of the Vikasheel Insaan Party, Chanchal Paswan has been chosen as the VIP candidate for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Gopalganj. He will directly compete against the NDA candidate and MP Dr. Alok Kumar Suman. The announcement of Chanchal Paswan as the Mahagathbandhan candidate has stirred up political activity in Gopalganj, with congratulations pouring in from all over the district.
VIP announces candidate for Gopalganj
After becoming a component party of the India Alliance, the VIP party was given three seats from the RJD quota ★Gopalganj, Motihari, and Jhanjharpur, which were given to Mukesh Sahni’s party. However, the announcement of candidates was not made in Gopalganj until late Thursday night. Chanchal Paswan was announced as the candidate by VIP in Gopalganj.
Who is Premnath Chanchal?
Premnath Chanchal, also known as Chanchal Paswan, hails from Bedu Tola village in Thawe Panchayat of Gopalganj district. He received his education up to the SSC level in Gopalganj. Premnath Chanchal is counted among the prominent businessmen in the district, with gas agencies and petrol pumps in several blocks of the district. His father, Sudama Manjhi, has been active in district politics for the past 20 years and is currently the district president of the BJP’s Scheduled Caste wing. Sudama Manjhi has previously been associated with the RJD before joining the BJP.

Premnath Chanchal, the VIP candidate, is the son of Engineer Sudama Manjhi, an active BJP leader. Currently, he is the district president of the BJP’s Scheduled Caste wing in Gopalganj. It will be interesting to see whether the father campaigns against his son or decides to resign from the BJP. However, sources suggest that Sudama Manjhi is soon going to resign from the BJP membership.
