Pappu Yadav’s Candidacy in Purnia
In the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Bihar’s Purnia seat is gaining significant attention as Rajesh Ranjan, also known as Pappu Yadav, has filed his nomination as an independent candidate. Despite hoping for a ticket from Congress or RJD, Pappu Yadav finds himself contesting the election as an independent candidate, with a huge crowd gathered during his nomination.
Pappu Yadav’s Political Career
Pappu Yadav has previously served as a Member of Parliament from Purnia in 1991, 1996, and 1999, as well as from Madhepura in 2004 and 2014. He has also held the position of a legislator in the past. However, Pappu Yadav faces numerous cases and has been convicted in two cases, with pending cases in different police stations against him, reflecting a tough image.
Pappu Yadav’s Assets and Family
According to his election affidavit, Pappu Yadav’s total assets amount to around Rs 1.77 crore, including cash, bank accounts, and gold. His wife, Rajya Sabha MP Ranjeet Ranjan, owns properties worth approximately Rs 7.45 crore, while their son has assets in HDFC Bank. Pappu Yadav’s family’s wealth and properties provide an insight into their financial status as he prepares to contest the election.
