ED has arrested Jharkhand Minister Alamgir Alam’s PA and domestic help in a case involving the recovery of Rs 35 crore in cash. The ED seized Rs 35 crore in cash from the private secretary Sanjeev Lal and his domestic helper Jahangir Alam of Jharkhand Minister Alamgir Alam on Monday. The ED arrested Sanjeev Lal and Jahangir Alam in this case on Tuesday under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
The ED conducted a raid on alleged irregularities in the Rural Development Department of Jharkhand. A raid was conducted in a 2-bedroom flat in Ranchi under which Rs 32 crore was recovered. In addition, Rs 3 crore in cash was recovered from three other locations. A total of Rs 35 crore in cash has been recovered so far. Jharkhand Rural Development Minister and Congress leader Alamgir Alam has denied any wrongdoing from his end.
The ED conducted raids on nine locations including Sanjeev Lal’s house along with his domestic help Jahangir Alam, builder Munna Singh, and others on Monday. A large amount of cash was recovered in the raid, and five cash-counting machines were used to count the notes. The ED also recovered property documents during the raid.
Last year, the ED conducted raids in Ranchi on the properties of chief engineer Veerendra Kumar Ram of the Rural Works Department. Ram was accused of taking bribes from contractors in exchange for awarding tenders illegally. The agency had seized Ram’s property worth Rs 39 crore. In the same case, the ED conducted raids in the state again on Monday, recovering a large amount of cash once more.
ईडी ने 35 करोड़ रुपये की नकदी बरामदगी के मामले में झारखंड सरकार के मंत्री आलमगीर आलम के पीए और घरेलू नौकर को गिरफ्तार कर लिया है। छापेमारी में रांची के फ्लैट से 32 करोड़ रुपये बरामद किए गए हैं और अन्य ठिकानों से भी 3 करोड़ रुपये बरामद किए गए हैं। इस मामले में आलमगीर आलम ने किसी भी गलत काम का इंकार किया है। ईडी ने इस मामले में गिरफ्तारी की और नकदी बरामद किया।
