Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw conducted a virtual conference to discuss the budget for the railways in 2024-25. He mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has allocated a record amount of funds for the railways. He highlighted the allocation of approximately 10,032 crores for the railways in Bihar this year. He also mentioned that 98% electrification has been completed in Bihar’s railways and the renovation of 92 stations under the Amrit Bharat Station scheme is underway.
In the budget, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the establishment of three major economic rail corridors for Indian Railways. These corridors include the energy, mineral and cement corridor, the port connectivity corridor, and the high-density network corridor. These projects will enhance connectivity and improve efficiency, resulting in improved passenger safety, train speed, and development of the GDP. Additionally, 40,000 general rail coaches will be upgraded to ‘Vande Bharat’ standards to enhance passenger comfort and safety.
The allocated funds for East Central Railways in the 2024-25 budget are as follows: 2,719 crores for doubling projects, 1,268 crores for new line projects, 205 crores for gauge conversion works, 1,000 crores for rail track modernization, 138 crores for electrification projects, 780 crores for consumer amenities development, 503 crores for road safety works, 265 crores for signal and telecommunication works, 123 crores for workshops, and 244 crores for traffic facilities.
Overall, the budget for 2024-25 focuses on the development of railway projects, passenger amenities, safety measures, and basic infrastructure, with a record allocation of funds.
रेल मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने बजट 2024-25 के रेल पर आधारित संवाददाता सम्मेलन किया। उन्होंने बताया कि प्रधानमंत्री ने रेलवे के लिए रिकॉर्ड धनराशि आवंटित की है और बिहार को लगभग 10,032 करोड़ का एलोकेशन किया है। उन्होंने इस साल बिहार में रेलवे का 98% विद्युतीकरण किया है और 92 स्टेशनों का अमृत भारत स्टेशन योजना के तहत पुनर्निर्माण किया जा रहा है। उन्होंने बजट में भारतीय रेल के लिए तीन प्रमुख आर्थिक रेल गलियारा बनाने की घोषणा की है और यात्री सुरक्षा और ट्रेनों की रफ्तार को बढ़ाने के लिए सामान्य रेल डिब्बों को ‘वंदे भारत’ मानकों के अनुरूप बदलने की भी घोषणा की है। इसके साथ ही बजट में पूर्व मध्य रेल के लिए 10754 करोड़ रूपए की राशि आवंटित की गई है।
