Heavy rains are expected in the state of Bihar in the coming days, as per the weather alert issued. Before the arrival of rain, cold waves and chilly days have been affecting the state. On January 29, Bihar witnessed severe cold days in five districts, with dense fog covering the entire state. The satellite images received on January 29 indicate that some parts of Bihar are experiencing moderate to high-level clouds originating from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. These clouds are formed at a height of 8 to 9 thousand feet from the surface.
The clouds in Bihar are formed due to the influence of western disturbances, which prevent the sun’s rays from reaching the earth. Currently, the condition of the clouds can only cause a decrease in daytime temperatures and an increase in nighttime temperatures. This cloud condition is expected to continue until February 4. On January 30, dense fog and chilly weather are expected in several districts, including Pashchim Champaran, Purbi Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, and Saran. Other districts like Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, and Muzaffarpur will also continue to experience cold days.
The minimum temperature recorded in various districts of Bihar on January 29 ranged from 4 to 11 degrees Celsius. The lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Kishanganj at 4.5 degrees Celsius, while Khagaria recorded the highest minimum temperature at 11 degrees Celsius. The weather during the day is expected to remain comfortable, with most districts experiencing sunny weather. However, there will be a gradual increase in temperatures. On January 29, the maximum temperature recorded in Bihar was 25 degrees Celsius in Sheikhpura. Most districts recorded maximum temperatures between 20 to 25 degrees Celsius. The daytime temperatures are expected to remain similar today.
