Increasing Crime Rate in Patna
In the capital city of Patna, criminals have become uncontrollable, carrying out incidents of robbery, dacoity, and even murder. Just two days ago, a petrol pump in the Saristabad area of Gardanibagh police station was looted of 34 lakh rupees. In another incident, dacoits looted the home of a bank manager in the posh area of Kankarbagh, taking away lakhs worth of property. On Thursday, criminals shot and killed a gas vendor named Ranjeet Ram in Kankarbagh.
Violent Incidents and Public Outrage
The criminals shot Ranjeet Ram, a vendor at Anamika Gas Agency, in the head near the LIG Park, leading to chaos in the area. The relatives of the gas vendor are devastated by the incident. Local residents are extremely angry about the incident and are unhappy with the police’s handling of the situation. The deceased, Ranjeet Ram, had been distributing gas cylinders in the area for the past 20 years.
Police Response and Public Concern
After the incident, SP Sweety Sheharawat arrived at the scene and claimed to be reaching out to the criminals based on CCTV footage. Three major incidents in the past three days in the capital city of Patna have raised serious questions about the police’s effectiveness. Despite additional forces being deployed during the election season, the increasing incidents in the capital have raised concerns about the safety of the residents of Patna.
