Rural villagers in the Khoksi village of the district captured a pickup van carrying rice late Wednesday night. When the villagers found out, they discovered that the rice-loaded vehicle belonged to Rajkishor Mandal, the husband of local dealer Kumari Archana from Pipda Vishnupur village in the police station area, who was transporting it for black marketing. The villagers became suspicious and surrounded the vehicle. It is reported that the pickup van was loaded with about 50-60 sacks of rice.
The villagers wrote a complaint letter and demanded action from the Block Development Officer, submitting it through local villagers including Deputy Head Chandan Sah, former head Premshankar Singh, Brajesh Kumar Singh, Rudlatam Paswan, Suresh Paswan, Ganesh Sah, and Vivek Sah. The same application was also given to the local police station. Copies of the complaint were also provided to the District Magistrate and Sub-Divisional Officer. It is known that under the Food Security Act, the sacks of grain received from the government for the poor are being looted.
The villagers accuse the PDS dealer of engaging in black marketing of ration. He attempted to sell the rice in government sacks. As soon as he was about to send the grain to the market, he was caught. The villagers caught him red-handed in the darkness of the night. The villagers stated that such activities are carried out regularly. Some villagers were outside the village at that time and noticed the activity.
