Accident in Jharkhand
In a tragic road accident in the Ranishwar area of Jharkhand, two members of the same family lost their lives. A senior officer in the area provided information about the incident. He mentioned that in this accident, Professor Shantanu Jena, a faculty member of Vishwa Bharati, was seriously injured, while his wife and daughter lost their lives. The incident occurred when the professor was traveling from Dumka in Jharkhand to Bolpur in West Bengal.
Details of the Accident
The officer stated that at the time of the accident, Professor Jena was driving the car himself, although it is not clear how the accident occurred. Local residents were the first to rescue all three and take them to the nearest hospital in Ranishwar. Later, they were transferred to Suri Sadar Hospital, where Professor Jena’s wife, Pushpalata Jena (50), and daughter, Sukriti Jena (25), were pronounced dead. Professor Shantanu Jena is currently undergoing treatment at Suri Hospital, with doctors stating that his condition is critical.
Investigation and Updates
Doctors have indicated that Professor Jena may need to have one of his legs amputated. The officer mentioned that an investigation into the accident has been initiated to determine the cause of the tragedy.
