Delay in Road Construction

The area of Lohapatti Bazaar in Bhagalpur is facing a lot of chaos due to the delay in road construction. The roads have not been built for many years and even the construction of the drainage system was done a long time ago. Despite a site inspection by Mayor Dr. Basundhara Lal in November, the estimated cost of 70 lakhs for road and drainage construction from Lohapatti to Variety Chowk was not approved by the Nagar Vikas and Awas Vibhag department.

Private Cleaning System not Effective

The maintenance of cleanliness in the market area has been handed over to private agencies, but the regular cleaning of Lohapatti Bazaar is not being done effectively. The presence of dirt and garbage in the area is causing inconvenience to the people, with clogged drains and unhygienic conditions around the shops.

Stalled Plan for Lohia Bridge Makeover

The plan to revamp the look under Lohia Bridge in Bhagalpur has been put on hold. Despite multiple inspections by the former Nagar Ayukt Dr. Yogesh Sagar, the work of developing the area has not progressed. The plan included the construction of toilets, setting up kiosks for shopkeepers, creating a park, and installing attractive lighting to make the area more appealing.

Encroachment as a Major Issue

Encroachment under Lohia Bridge has become a major issue, with the anti-encroachment team failing to prevent illegal occupation of the road. Despite several attempts to remove encroachments, the problem persists and needs to be addressed by the authorities.
