Heavy Rainfall and Thunderstorms in Ranchi
On Monday evening in Ranchi, there was heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. Continuous lightning strikes were reported, and the rapid rainfall affected the daily life of Ranchi residents. Main roads along with streets in neighborhoods and colonies were flooded, causing darkness to spread across the city.
Recorded Rainfall and Temperature Drop in Ranchi
Until 5:30 PM on Monday, Ranchi recorded 17.50 mm of rainfall, while Ramgarh had 22.5 mm, Lohardaga had 5.5 mm, Godda had 19.5 mm, and Bokaro had 1.5 mm of rainfall. After the heavy rainfall, there was a drop in both the maximum and minimum temperatures in Ranchi. The maximum temperature recorded after the rainfall on Monday night was 19 degrees Celsius, compared to 21 degrees Celsius on Sunday.
Highest Rainfall in Khunti and Yellow Alert for Thunderstorms
Khunti recorded the highest rainfall in the region with 40.4 mm in the last 24 hours. A yellow alert has been issued for thunderstorms and heavy rainfall on March 19th. This alert is for Ranchi, Gumla, Khunti, Simdega, Singhbhum, and Lohardaga for heavy rainfall. A warning has been issued for other districts until March 21st as well.
Crop Damage Due to Rainfall
The surrounding areas of Ranchi experienced crop damage due to the rainfall, especially affecting cauliflower and bell peppers. Fields in Chanho were flooded, causing damage to crops like cauliflower, beans, bell peppers, mustard, etc. Farmers are facing challenges due to the delayed onset of summer, continuous rainfall, and increased pest attacks.
झारखंड के मौसम में बदलाव के कारण सोमवार की शाम को रांची में तेज हवाओं और मूसलाधार बारिश की घटना देखी गई। बारिश के बाद रांची में तापमान में गिरावट दर्ज की गई। मौसम विभाग ने आगे के मौसम के लिए येलो अलर्ट जारी किया है और फसलों पर भी नुकसान की चेतावनी दी गई है। इसके साथ हवा की अधिकतम रफ्तार के साथ वज्रपात की संभावना भी बताई गई है। बारिश के कारण गोभी, बीन्स और शिमला मिर्च जैसी फसलों को नुकसान हुआ है। बेड़ो और तमाड़ में वज्रपात से दो मवेशियों की मौत की भी खबर है। इसके बावजूद मौसम वैज्ञानिकों का कहना है कि यह प्रभाव 21 मार्च तक रहेगा।
