Success Story of Promod Kumar Mahato
Promod Kumar Mahato started farming in 1985 and now earns up to 10 lakhs annually through various crops and vegetable farming in his 14 bigha land. Facing initial hardships, he eventually started cultivating vegetables and other crops in his land. He has planted 200 mango trees along with brinjal, cabbage, beans, garlic, onion, and traditional crops without the use of chemical fertilizers, making his farming completely organic.
Organic Farming Leading to Prosperity
Promod Kumar Mahato shared that he practices organic farming for fruits and flowers as well, using organic manure as per the crop requirements. He has also installed solar panels with government grants, ensuring self-sufficiency in electricity. He sells his produce locally and has found happiness and prosperity through farming, earning up to 10 lakhs annually. By shunning chemical fertilizers and adopting organic methods, he has not only improved his income but also contributed to sustainable agriculture in Banka district.
