**Incident of Suicide in Nalanda, Bihar**
In Nalanda, Bihar, a teenage girl committed suicide by hanging herself on Monday night. The incident took place in the Telmar police station area under the Sorahadih village. The deceased has been identified as Sweety Kumari (14), daughter of Manoj Kumar from the Etnawa village in Patna district. Sweety was currently residing in her maternal uncle’s house in Sorahadih village.
**Reason behind the Suicide**
Sweety’s maternal uncle, Ramkhelawan Ravidas, mentioned that Sweety’s mother scolded her, which led her to take this extreme step. Feeling hurt by the scolding, Sweety hung herself near the stairs using a scarf. The incident occurred while everyone else in the house was asleep. Her mother had gone to the neighboring house to sing songs for a wedding celebration.
**Details of the Incident**
According to information received, the food that Sweety had prepared at home on Monday evening was not cooked properly. This led to her mother scolding her. When her mother went to sing songs in the neighboring house, Sweety, who was already upset, hanged herself. Sweety had been living with her parents and siblings in Etnawa for the past 10 years.
**Police Investigation**
Shatruhgn Shah, the head of the Telmar police station, stated that after receiving the news of the girl’s death, the police reached the scene where they found her with a scarf around her neck. The family members informed the police that the mother scolded Sweety, which led to her suicide. The body has been sent to Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital for postmortem. Further action will be taken based on the application received. The police are currently investigating the case.
