Threats to Bihar Education Department Official

The Additional Secretary of the Bihar Education Department, KK Pathak, received threats from the husband of one of his own teachers. The teacher claims that she is being harassed intentionally. The incident occurred after the CEO of a school reported to the department about the absence of a teacher during an inspection. This led to the teacher’s husband, Aftab Alam, threatening the official, prompting the CEO to seek police protection and demand strict action against the perpetrator.

Unruly Behavior and Threats

Aftab Alam used abusive language and threatened the official, accusing him of taking bribes in the name of inspections. He also threatened to bring the official from his residence in Muzaffarpur. Witnesses to the incident include school teachers, accountants, and a vehicle driver. Concerned about a possible untoward incident, the CEO has requested an investigation by the Bokhara police station and emphasized the need for security.

Inspection and Consequences

The CEO, Sudhir Kumar Ray, conducted a surprise inspection at the Middle School in Jhitki, Bokhara, where it was found that one teacher, Sabiha Khatoon, was absent without notice. Following departmental orders, the CEO sent an online report to the headquarters in Patna regarding Sabiha’s absence. Aftab Alam, husband of the teacher, is also employed as a teacher in Nanpur Panchayat and filed a report against his wife, leading to further threats towards the official.
