Tragic Train Accident in Jamui
A 19-year-old youth, Sukendra Yadav from Jamui district, lost his life in a rail accident near Kalajhariya Halt in Jharkhand’s Jamtara. Sukendra, who belonged to a very poor family, was the only son and was going to Bangalore to earn money for his family after taking his matriculation exam. He had borrowed two thousand rupees from a relative to buy a train ticket to Bangalore.
Grief-Stricken Family and Village
After the accident, not just his family but also the people in the village are mourning his death. It is reported that he had borrowed a total of 30 thousand rupees from different people for household needs. Sukendra’s parents are in poor health, with his mother undergoing treatment for a mental illness, and his three sisters are already married.
Unexpected Tragedy
Sukendra was on the Jhajha station platform with a distant relative to catch the Bhagalpur Yesvantpur Express to Bangalore. When smoke started coming out of the train’s brake shoe at Kalajhariya station, and rumors of a fire started circulating, chaos ensued. During this time, Sukendra accidentally stepped off the platform onto the tracks in the opposite direction, where he was hit by the Asansol-Jhajha Passenger train and lost his life. The entire village and relatives are in shock, wondering how the sole breadwinner of the family met such a tragic fate.
