In the district of Banka, Bihar, a unique love story between a mother-in-law and son-in-law has come to light. They defied societal norms and got married, with the son-in-law even applying sindoor on the mother-in-law’s demand. This unusual love story has become the talk of the entire district.
Origin of the Love Story
The incident took place in the Chhatrapal Panchayat of the Sadar Thana area in Banka district. Dilleshwar Darve from Hirmoti village had married his daughter to Sikandar Yadav from Dhobani in the Katoria block of the district about two decades ago. After his first wife’s death, Sikandar remarried, but the second marriage was unsuccessful, leading to a divorce. Despite this, he maintained a close relationship with his first wife’s family, and eventually, love blossomed between him and his 45-year-old mother-in-law, Geeta Devi.
Marriage and Acceptance
With the support of Geeta Devi and Dilleshwar, the son-in-law, Sikandar, decided to marry his mother-in-law. The entire village was witness to this unconventional marriage, where Sikandar applied sindoor on his mother-in-law’s demand. Geeta Devi expressed her happiness with the marriage, stating that she had no regrets about marrying her son-in-law. Dilleshwar, the father-in-law, also approved of the relationship, facilitating their marriage.
