Double Tunnel Update from Moinul Haq Stadium to PU
In a major development regarding the Patna Metro Rail project, the digging work for the double metro tunnel from Moinul Haq Stadium to Patna University is expected to be completed by May. The construction of two separate tunnels for the Corridor-2 of the Patna Metro has been ongoing since last year, with the tunnel boring machine starting excavation work in March-April. The first tunnel, approximately 1.5 km long from the stadium to the university, has already been completed in March 2024, with the second tunnel excavation currently underway.
Expansion Towards Gandhi Maidan
In the next phase, officials plan to start digging a tunnel from Patna University to Gandhi Maidan, covering a distance of about 2.5 km. The excavation work is expected to commence in June, with plans to re-launch the tunnel boring machine coming out from the university. The work on the Metro tunnel in front of Gandhi Maidan, extending up to Akashvani, is currently ongoing, with approximately 1.5 km of excavation work starting in December 2023. This route will further extend to Patna Junction.
Work Progress on Different Corridors
While work on the tunnel excavation from Patna Junction to Chidiyaghar on Bailey Road for Corridor-1 is yet to begin, progress is steadily moving forward on the elevated route from Danapur to RPS Mor on this route. Work on both Corridor-1 and Corridor-2 of the Patna Metro is currently underway, with efforts to expedite the construction process for the benefit of the residents eagerly awaiting the launch of the metro service in the city.
पटना मेट्रो रेल परियोजना की खुदाई में मोइनुल हक स्टेडियम से पीयू तक दोहरी सुरंग का काम मई महीने में पूरा हो जाएगा। अगले फेज में पटना विश्वविद्यालय से गांधी मैदान तक करीब ढाई किमी लंबी सुरंग की खुदाई का काम जून में शुरू होने की उम्मीद है। बीते कुछ महीनों से विश्वविद्यालय से बाहर निकलने वाले टीबीएम को फिर से री-लाॉंच करने की योजना है। पटना मेट्रो के कॉरिडोर-1 और कोरिडोर-2 पर काम जारी है, लेकिन चिड़ियाघर तक सुरंग की खुदाई का काम अभी तक शुरू नहीं हुआ है।
