Appeal of the Disappointed Voters: What is Going to Happen on June 4?

In the second phase of Lok Sabha elections in 2024, voting was held on 88 seats across the country. In the first phase, there were four seats in Bihar, but this time there were five. The lowest voter turnout of 51-52 percent was in Bhagalpur. The disappointment with voting at the epicenter of the empire of Danveer Karn is also disappointing because Prime Minister Narendra Modi had come here to seek votes for the National Democratic Alliance and Bollywood actress Neha Sharma was campaigning for her father, Congress candidate Ajit Sharma. She had appealed to people to use their voting rights on the grand festival of democracy, but it seems that her appeal fell on deaf ears.

Last time, the voter turnout was 57.2 percent, understand the reasons for this time’s situation.

The 2014 Lok Sabha elections were a change in power. In 2019, there was a wave-like situation regarding the repetition of the old government due to several reasons. This time, the question is being asked because the voter turnout in the first phase was worse than last time. The competition is better than the first phase, but it is still not as enthusiastic as the 2019 voting. This seat is held by the ruling Janata Dal United in Bihar. JDU MP Ajay Mandal is contesting from this seat again this time. There has been no change in the party or the alliance. It can be said that it is a good thing for them that their opponent, Shailendra Kumar alias Bulu Mandal, who contested against them in the previous elections, left the National People’s Party and joined JDU before this election. But did this benefit them in votes? This will be known on June 4 through the study of the difference between victory and defeat. Currently, talking about the competition, Ajit Sharma, who is contesting from the Bhagalpur Assembly seat, is a Congress MLA. He is contesting in the parliamentary elections this time. First, the uproar of his daughter Neha Sharma’s name, then the father himself entered the field. Neha Sharma came from Mumbai to Bhagalpur and campaigned vigorously on the streets. The benefit of that campaign did not show in the percentage of votes, now it will be known on June 4 whether the votes in favor of her father changed due to the difference between victory and defeat.
