Water Crisis in Gaya

As the temperature rises, the water level is decreasing in Gaya. Due to the extreme heat, many villages in Gaya are facing a shortage of water. This water scarcity is causing a lot of distress to the people. The issue is in Saraiya village of Gurua block in Gaya district, where all hand pumps have dried up.

Challenges Faced by Villagers

Only a few government boring wells are available for water filling, but even those are not functioning properly. Some villagers have to travel to Aurangabad district to fetch water. Due to the lack of a proper storage system, villagers are dependent on electricity to fill water. In case of power cuts, it becomes difficult for them to access water, leading to more hardships.

Appeal for Government Intervention

The villagers have requested the authorities to install a water tank in the village to alleviate the water scarcity issue. Some individuals have installed private submersible pumps in the boring wells, causing disputes over water usage. The situation worsens when there are power cuts, leaving the villagers with no access to water. The demand is for a sustainable solution to ensure water availability for all residents.
