Jharkhand Weather Update

On Thursday, many districts of Jharkhand, including the capital Ranchi, experienced heavy rain accompanied by strong winds. While the weather turned pleasant in some areas, two people lost their lives due to lightning strikes. The maximum temperature in Ranchi dropped by five degrees due to the rain. An orange alert for thunderstorms and rain has been issued in Ranchi and other districts on Friday, with winds reaching speeds of 50-60 km/h. Some areas like Palamu saw clouds but no rain, while Chhatra, Koderma, Ramgarh, and Simdega received light to moderate rain, bringing relief from the heat.

Heavy Rainfall Causes Floods and Disruptions

Ranchi and nearby areas experienced good rainfall on Friday, with 15.2 mm of rain recorded. The strong winds during the rain reached speeds of 40-50 km/h. The four-hour rain provided relief from the heat for many people, but led to flooding on streets and main roads. Power outages for three to four hours affected around seven lakh people, with no access to drinking water. Olavrishti was also reported in Ormanjhi and surrounding areas.

Cooler Weather Across the State

The weather change has brought cooler temperatures to most districts in Jharkhand, including Ranchi. The maximum temperature in Ranchi was recorded at 34.4 degrees, while the minimum was 22.0 degrees. Due to the weather change, temperatures in Ranchi dropped by nearly three degrees. An orange alert for thunderstorms and lightning was issued in Ranchi and surrounding areas on Friday, with wind speeds reaching up to 50-60 km/h or more.

Alerts Issued for Northern Jharkhand

Yellow alerts have been issued for areas in northern Jharkhand, with thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds expected. Ranchi and other parts of Jharkhand saw an orange alert for thunderstorms, rain, and lightning on Friday. The impact is expected to be greater in southern parts of the state. The Weather Department’s scientist Abhishek Anand stated that the southern regions of Jharkhand, including Ranchi, will be more affected, while the north will see thunderstorms, rain, and lightning with wind speeds of 40-50 km/h.



झारखंड में गुरुवार को रांची समेत कई जिलों में तेज हवा के साथ बारिश हुई। इस बारिश से मौसम खुशनुमा हुआ लेकिन वज्रपात से दो लोगों की मौत हो गई। बारिश के कारण तापमान में पांच डिग्री की गिरावट आई है और शुक्रवार को अन्य जिलों में आंधी-बारिश का ऑरेंज अलर्ट जारी किया गया है। रांची में बारिश से जलजमाव हुआ, बिजली-पानी भी बंद हो गया। इस बारिश के कारण मौसम ठंडा हो गया है और रांची का तापमान सामान्य से तीन डिग्री कम हो गया है। राज्य के उत्तरी हिस्से में भी आंधी और बारिश के साथ वज्रपात का येलो अलर्ट जारी किया गया है।
