**Tragic Incident at Mela in Motihari, Bihar**
A tragic incident occurred at a fair in Motihari, Bihar where a young woman lost her life due to a swing breaking. Another young woman was seriously injured in the incident. The swing operator fled the scene after the incident. The police are currently investigating the matter in the Kalyanpur police station area of Khatolwa village.
**Details of the Incident**
According to reports, a fair was being held in Khatolwa village in the Kalyanpur police station area where swings were installed for people’s entertainment. Ajay Singh’s daughter Priya Kumari (19), a resident of Ganvandri village, went to the fair with her friends. While swinging on the swing, the swing broke and she fell, sustaining a fatal head injury. Her friend Ruby Kumari (18) who was also on the swing was seriously injured and was rushed to a private doctor for treatment.
**Escape of Swing Operator and Crowd Gathering**
As soon as the swing broke and the young woman died, the swing operator fled the scene. A large crowd gathered at the incident site immediately after the incident. Priya, who lost her life in the swing accident, was scheduled to get married in November. Wedding preparations were underway at her home, but fate had something else in store for her. She went to see the fair on Saturday night where the accident happened, resulting in her death.
**Permission for Fair and Police Investigation**
The fair committee had obtained permission from the Chakiya SDPO to organize the fair. The fair had started two days prior to the incident. Kalyanpur SHO Jitendra Kumar mentioned that the fair had been going on for two days. When the fair committee members approached him, he informed them about Section 144 being in effect and asked them to get permission from the SDPO. After the incident, the police arrived at the scene. The deceased’s family mentioned that her father lives in Odisha and they will decide whether to conduct a post-mortem on the body after his arrival.
