Demand for Salary Increase Leads to Job Termination
In 2018, workers of the electricity department in Begusarai, including Saroj Paswan, Ramvadan Yadav, Mali Rajak, and Virendra Kumar, staged a protest demanding a salary increase. Initially, department officials tried to persuade them to end the protest, but after assurances of a pay raise, the workers ended their demonstration. However, the next day, they were shocked to learn that they had been terminated from their jobs upon reporting to work.
Legal Battle for Justice
Feeling unfairly treated, the workers, now unemployed, decided to file a petition in the labor court seeking justice. After six years of legal battles, the Begusarai Labor Court finally ruled in favor of the workers. The court ordered the electricity department to reinstate the workers with an attractive salary package, reprimanding the department officials for their actions.
Court Orders Reinstatement with Better Pay
After a prolonged struggle for fair treatment, the court’s decision brought smiles to the faces of the workers. The court not only directed the department to rehire the workers but also mandated providing an appealing salary. This legal victory serves as a reminder of the importance of standing up for one’s rights and seeking justice through the appropriate channels.
