Young man hit by bike rider
In Supaul’s Gauravghar Chowk, on Thursday morning, a bike rider hit a young man, resulting in the death of the young man. The incident led to the grieving relatives of the victim wailing on the road. The protesting family members started demanding compensation. Upon receiving information about the incident, Supaul Sadar Thana in-charge Arun Kumar arrived and cleared the jam after pacifying the crowd.
Traffic jam during protest
During the protest, the road remained jammed for nearly two hours near Gauravghar Chowk. Long queues of vehicles formed on the road. Passersby also faced inconvenience. The deceased has been identified as Vikas Kumar Yadav, a 26-year-old resident of Ward 6 in the Gauravghar area of Supaul Sadar Thana. The deceased used to work as a laborer to support his family.
Brother narrates the incident
The victim’s elder brother, Jay Prakash Yadav, mentioned that on Thursday morning around 8 o’clock, he was on his way to work as usual to the Degree College Chowk. While walking near Gauravghar Chowk, an unknown bike rider hit him forcefully and fled the scene. By the time local people took the injured youth to the hospital, he had already passed away at the scene of the accident.
Police provides information
Meanwhile, people angered by the death blocked the main road from Pipra to Supaul, demanding action against the unknown vehicle and compensation for the victim’s family. At the same time, the victim’s family was seen mourning on the road and demanding action from the administration. On the other hand, Supaul Sadar Thana in-charge Arun Kumar informed that a laborer had died in a road accident. People have been assured of appropriate legal action and compensation. Necessary action is being taken to take possession of the body.
