Great news for commuters traveling from Greater Noida to Noida and Delhi! Their journey is about to become much easier with the construction of a connecting metro corridor between Aqua Line’s Sector-142 metro station and Botanical Garden metro station on the Magenta Line. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been prepared and submitted to the authorities for approval. Let’s find out who will benefit from this metro expansion.
What will happen after the approval of the DPR?
According to a senior official, after receiving approval from Noida Authority and Greater Noida Authority, the DPR will be presented in the next board meeting of Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC). Lokes M, Managing Director of NMRC, stated that the DPR will be sent to the Uttar Pradesh government and the central government for approval. The DPR has been prepared for NMRC by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). NMRC operates the Aqua Line between Noida and Greater Noida.
Which stations will be connected?
According to the DPR, the proposed Aqua Line will connect the existing Sector 142 station in Noida with the Botanical Garden station of Delhi Metro. It is worth mentioning that the Botanical Garden station serves as an interchange station for Delhi Metro’s Blue Line and Magenta Line.
List of new metro stations
As per NMRC’s statement, the total length of the proposed line will be 11.56 kilometers. The construction cost is estimated to be Rs 2,254.35 crores. The metro line will have eight new elevated stations. These include Botanical Garden, Noida Sector 44, Noida Office, Sector 97, Sector 105, Sector 108, Sector 93, Panchsheel Balak Inter College, and Sector 142. This will benefit the residents of Delhi and Greater Noida.
Lokes M. mentioned that this project will provide connectivity for the residents of both Noida and Greater Noida, connecting them to the Delhi Metro network. The Botanical Garden station will serve as an interchange station between NMRC’s Aqua Line and DMRC’s Magenta and Blue Lines. Lokes M. also stated that this project will be beneficial for all commuters traveling between Noida, Greater Noida, and Delhi.
