Dehradun-Delhi Expressway: Dream of reaching Delhi from Dehradun in two and a half hours

The Dehradun-Delhi Expressway is expected to be completed soon, with rapid progress being made towards Dehradun. This project is under the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and connects Delhi to Dehradun via Saharanpur.

Reduced travel time and distance

With the completion of the Expressway, the travel time between Delhi and Dehradun is expected to be reduced to approximately 2.5 hours, significantly less than the current 5-hour journey. This will not only reduce travel time but also provide relief from traffic congestion.

Passing through cities

The Dehradun-Delhi Expressway starts from Delhi’s Akshardham and passes through Shastri Park, Khajoori Khas, Mandola Baghpat, Khekra Shamli, and Saharanpur before reaching Dehradun. The construction of the Expressway has been done in three phases.

Potential start of travel in March

The elevated road from Shastri Nagar in Delhi to Loni is nearly ready, with expectations of travel starting on the first phase by March 2024. This will reduce the distance between Delhi and Dehradun to 6 hours, with travel time reduced to just 2.5 hours. The corridor will also provide a safe passage for both wildlife and people, ensuring no conflict between them.
