MLC Radhacharan Seth Arrested by ED on Corruption Charges

JDU Legislative Councilor (MLC) Radhacharan Seth has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on corruption charges. Seth, who is involved in the sand syndicate, is accused of corruption. The ED team is currently interrogating him and will produce him in the special ED court after the interrogation is completed. The ED is expected to demand his remand.

60 Bank Accounts Frozen

Earlier this year, the Income Tax Department raided Radhacharan Seth’s residence in February for a tax evasion case. In June, the ED conducted simultaneous raids at Seth’s locations in Patna, Hazaribagh, Dhanbad, and Kolkata, as well as 24 other locations across the country. During the raids, cash worth over Rs 1 crore and property documents worth Rs 11 crore were found. Information about Rs 6 crore deposited in the bank was also discovered, leading to the freezing of approximately 60 bank accounts belonging to Seth.

Raid for 12 Hours, Followed by Arrest

Prior to Seth’s arrest, the ED team conducted raids at his locations in Patna and Bhojpur for approximately 12 hours. The raid included Seth’s government and private residences, as well as other locations such as Babu Bazaar’s residence in Arrah and Anaith Bihari Mill Farm House near the railway station. During the raid, accounting documents and important business-related documents, including property investment records, were seized. However, the ED has not officially confirmed this.

Important Revelations from Recovered Diary

During the raid, the ED recovered a diary from Seth’s hideout, which contains recorded accounts in code words. The diary is currently in the possession of the ED and may be sent to the forensic department for decoding. This is the second action taken by the ED against Seth, with the first action occurring in June. After the recent raid and arrest, Seth’s diary and interrogations may provide crucial evidence in the corruption case.
